Georgia College & State University (GCSU) envisions a new science facility to provide flexible research labs, associated faculty workspaces, instructional labs, and associated lab service spaces. The proposed 45,000-square foot facility would be located near Herty Hall, the existing main science building. The program for the new facility takes into consideration the long-term renovation of Herty Hall. Combined, the integrated science complex will provide the needed lab teaching and research space, lab support, classrooms, offices, collaboration and community outreach spaces.

The project will pursue feasible sustainable design goals with respect to the Georgia Energy Efficiency & Sustainable Construction Act of 2008, and will seek Georgia Peach Certification.
